Clean Water Act 40th Anniversary Celebration A Success!
On Saturday, September 15th Potomac Riverkeeper along with Waterkeeper Alliance hosted a celebration in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act at the Georgetown Waterfront Park. This rally was the capstone to Waterkeeper Alliance's year-long CWA 40 Campaign. Over 100 community members joined us for a morning paddle out on the Potomac River followed by a series of clean water advocate speakers, highlighting progress made with this landmark legislation and envisioning a hopeful future for the next 40 years. The rally culminated in a waterfront and river clean up for International Coastal Cleanup Day.
