About Us

We work to protect the public's right to clean water in our rivers and streams. We stop pollution to promote safe drinking water, protect healthy river habitats, and enhance public use and enjoyment.

Over the last decade, our call for clean drinking water has reached millions of residents living in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  Headquartered in Washington, DC, Potomac and Shenandoah Riverkeeper field staff work on the ground in large parts of the Shenandoah Valley and Upper Potomac region. With more than 1,500 loyal members, we work directly with communities to help raise awareness and advocacy for clean water.
