Pure Potomac, Island to Island Trek

In this video interview you will meet super-volunteer Ned Stone, another shining example of what's great about the Potomac and the people who care about her. Upon his retirement five years ago, Ned decided to take the problem of trash in the river into his own hands -- literally. He spends on average, four to five mornings a week pulling garbage from the river. Whit and Joe spotted Ned during one of their stops near Belle Haven Marina, in a small kayak piled high with garbage. Ned may not know exactly where the garbage starts but as he put's it in this interview, "...I know where it stops!" If we all could channel our "inner Ned" it would bring us a whole lot closer to a Pure Potomac. Enjoy this short clip then be sure to check out more highlights from Whit and Joe's 132-mile paddle down the Potomac.
